In ayurveda, the coming cold and damp aggravate and can weaken the digestive system. this can lead to an accumulating of toxins (ama). interestingly, this is also the time of year when colds and flu come around, as well as certain molds. the diet should now move into warm and nourishing foods, sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and pungent. you can begin incorporating soups and stews into you meals. grains such as quinoa and rice, as well as fermented foods like kimchi and sour kraut.
