SPRING

Ayurveda medicine states that in the spring the increasing fire element in the body begins to melt the congested kapha of the body. this increases problems such as excess mucus, colds, flu, allergies, cough, and asthma. the spring diet should follow eating less fatty and greasy foods. emphasize lean proteins (chicken and fish), cereal grains, and legumes. add bitter, pungent, and astringent flavored vegetables.
